Melcher & Prescott Insurance recently hired Sue Spicuzza as Commercial Lines Vice President, Risk Management. Before joining Melcher & Prescott, Spicuzza worked at American International
Group (AIG) for 23 years where she held various roles, some of which included Claims Manager and Pre-Injury Consultant. Some of her previous work experience also includes stints at Horne Insurance Agency and Commercial Union Insurance

Born in Western Massachusetts, Spicuzza was raised in Meredith from the age of 5 after her father, Bill Harris, became part owner of Horne Insurance Agency. Graduate of Bryant College (now University), Spicuzza returned with her family, including her 3 sons, to live in Meredith in 2005.
Since that time, she has volunteered for many charities. She has served as Vice President/Fundraising for the Lakes Region Youth Hockey Association and Secretary for Cal Ripken Baseball in Meredith. In addition to other volunteer efforts and philanthropy, Spicuzza has sponsored a child in Bolivia since 2017 through Compassion International.
Regarding her thoughts on this “next phase” of her career, Spicuzza expressed enthusiasm and cited Miss Rumphius, a children’s book by Barbara Cooney, as representative of her outlook. In the book, she said Miss Rumphius, who is referred to as The Lupine Lady, challenges her great-niece by letting her know that she must do something to make the world more beautiful. “This sentiment reminds us that we all have the power to leave a lasting legacy through small acts of kindness and beauty,” said Spicuzza. “This is how I approach my personal and professional life.”
